Introducing:  LIECA HIGH DEFINITION LASER SCANNING

Engineers and contractors are often faced with the need to capture dimensional data of existing structures, process facilities or mechanical systems for retrofit projects.

Online Systems Inc. has added the technology of High Definition Laser Scanning to its Survey Tool Box for just this purpose.

Over the past 15 years, Online Systems Inc. has been working on ways to improve the old "tape & plumb bob" method.  Fine tuning techniques using a Total Station to capture field dimensions has worked very well for us.  But wait.......

  • This new Laser Scanning Technology captures an entire scene in 3D space, made up of millions of points, quickly and accurately.  The resulting "point clouds" are then manipulated and imported into a CAD environment where a variety of electronic deliverables can be constructed.  The Total Station is used to tie the "point clouds" into a plant grid system, property boundaries or other orientation datum.

  • Using these technologies in tandem gives Online Systems Inc. not only a valuable product for it's clients but the unique ability to provide these deliverables with high speed.
  • Now when we go to the field to get dimensions, we don't just get what we think we need.  We capture everything in 3D space with unbelievable accuracy.
  • Prefabrication can now be expanded on construction projects to areas previously thought to be inaccessible.

Let Online Systems Inc. tailor a set of deliverables to meet your business needs.

  • Uses for this technology are not limited to retrofit design and construction projects. Anytime there is a need to capture complex geometry quickly and accurately, Laser Scanning is the answer!  Online Systems Inc. has the resources and trained staff to bring the benefits of Laser Scanning to your company.
  • Although our expertise is in the construction industry, we would not rule out using this knowledge to assist in a forensic, accident, or geological setting.

Deliverables may include:

  • Complete integrated design packages
  • Raw "point clouds" (3D imagery)
  • 2D raster imagery
  • 3D CAD files
  • 2D CAD files
